Katherine holds a Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. During her training she gained an abundance of knowledge and clinical experience allowing her to evaluate and care for a diverse and complex patient population. She is also an active member of her family’s own US Hockey Players Support Our Troops charity, which raises money to support Gold Star families and active service members.

Throughout her doctoral training, Katie completed multiple clinical affiliations in which she treated an array of diagnoses in each therapy setting. She worked closely with orthopedic surgeons, occupational therapists, and speech pathologists during her time at Maimonides Medical Center. This setting allowed her to accumulate extensive knowledge with treating immediate post-operative patients within a complex multi-disciplinary environment. Katie also accumulated a great deal of experience in various orthopedic and sports rehabilitation outpatient settings. Finally, Katie has extensive experience working with patients who have had amputations and has taken special interest in prosthetic training.

Prior to obtaining her degree, Katie played Division III collegiate ice hockey for SUNY Cortland, where she was the Assistant Captain of her team and a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. She directly impacted the regulations and policies that affected student-athletes’ lives on campus.

Katie brings the same energy and motivation that she had on the ice to the clinic. She strives to improve her patient’s quality of life and inspires others to achieve their fitness and functional goals.
