Dr. John Donnelly
John holds a Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from Mercy College located in Westchester, NY. During his experience he gained an abundance of knowledge ranging across the human lifespan and participated in intensive clinical experiences across each therapy setting. John was formerly an Exercise Therapist at New York Presbyterian Queens where he rehabbed those with cardiac disease and other related cardiovascular disorders, including heart transplant, congestive heart failure, and heart attacks.
Throughout his doctoral training, John completed multiple clinical rotations across the physical therapy spectrum which has evolved his clinical practice. He completed his rotations most recently at Northwell’s North Shore University Hospital in the neurosurgical ICU, stroke and step down units. This setting allowed him to accumulate extensive knowledge with examining and treating a wide variety of the neurological population. John also accumulated a great deal of experience at NYP Weill Cornell during his rotation in the rehabilitation medicine department working with orthopedic, neurological as well as patients with vestibular ailments such as BPPV and Meniere’s. Finally, John has extensive experience working in an energetic orthopedic setting as he also completed one of his rotation’s at ProMet’s Atlas Park location in 2020!
Prior to obtaining his degree, John played Division II collegiate baseball for Adelphi University in Garden City. John has a wealth of experience with strength and conditioning and sports related injuries due to his involvement with the athletics program as well as his time training elite hockey players ranging from HS age to the NHL. John believes that every adult has athletic potential waiting to be unleashed and strives to help all of his clients understand how to move better and improve their movement literacy.
